Cassandra’s prophecy is doomed to be disbelieved. Troilus responds with fury at her words, and he leaps from his bed. However, in Fil, after Cassandra leaves, Troiolo remains in bed and continues to live in grief, as he is strong enough to bear it patiently (7.104). Chaucer omits Boccaccio’s description of Hecuba, Helen and the others who visit Troiolo and comfort him.
