When Pandarus goes to see Criseyde in her bedroom on the morning after the consummation, his behaviour of peeping underneath the sheet and thrusting his arm under her neck and kissing her is not only aggressive but also prurient. Furthermore, as noted in studies, the knife he offers contains phallic suggestions. Refer to Carton (1979: 57) for a more detailed discussion.
