Just as she did in 2.480, Criseyde emphasises again that she will only be able to love Troilus while keeping her reputation (see 3.159). However, we surprisingly find that she takes the initiative to kiss Troilus. As to this scene Chaucer added by Chaucer, see also my comment of ‘cler’ (adj., Tr3.129).
