Comments from the Editor

Pandarus tries to comfort Troilus after they confirm that Criseyde has changed her heart. Although this scene follows Fil.8.23–24, Pandarus appears to detest Criseyde more than his counterpart in the source text. Pandarus appeals for her death, while Pandaro only prays that Criseida may be punished so that she does not again commit the same mistake.
