Similarly, as he does in the previous stanzas, Pandarus notes that Criseyde should be held responsible if Troilus dies. In addition, Pandarus emphasizes that he only wants Criseyde to show love as a friend, which is not at all what he really wants. Accordingly, one can see that Pandarus is not sincere and true to his niece.
