This stanza reminds one of 4.1667–73, where Criseyde confesses to Troilus that she loves him not because of his “estat roial” and so forth. In this instance, Diomede’s “grete estat” is one of the primary reasons Criseyde loves him. See also my comment of ‘alone’ (adj., Tr5.1026).
