The quotation above has a counterpart in Fil (2.95); however, Troiolo only prays to Love and Troilus’s prayer to both God and Minerva is Chaucer’s. Besides, in the following part, Chaucer summarised Troilus’s letter (2.1065–85) to replace Troiolo’s eleven-stanza letter (2.96–106).
