Before he goes to visit Criseyde for their first night, Troilus invokes various gods in order according to their distance from Earth, i.e. from the farthest Jupiter to the nearest moon. Venus (already invoked) and Saturn (a malevolent planet) are omitted.

Besides, ‘blody cope’ is appropriately attached to Mars for it appears to be red if observed from Earth.
