Japanese translations (Sasamoto: 2012): 何しろ誰にも何らかのいい運はいつか分け与えられるのだから、尤もその人がそれの受け入れ方を知っておればの話だが。しかしそれが到来した時に、それに少しも注意を払わずに、それを意識的に無視するならば、ほら、偶然も運もどちらもがその人を欺くのではなく、人を欺くのはまさにその人自身の怠慢と間抜けのせいなんだ。そのような人こそ責めを負うべきなのだと、私は思う。
Chinese translations (Fang: 1956): 每人都有一个好运降临的时候，只看他能不能领受；但他若不及时注意，或竟顽强地抛开机遇，那就并非机缘或命运在作弄他，其实惟有归咎于他自己的疏懒和荒唐；我想这样的人只好抱怨自己。
