Pandarus’s speech here reminds of 1.841–4 (see also my comment of ‘commune’, 1.843), in which he emphasises the changeability of Fortune and comforts Troilus that his good fortune is coming. However, as Fortune keeps changing, Troilus must face the miserable reality: the parliament has decided to exchange Criseyde with Antenor.
