Although Pandarus suggests stealing Criseyde, Troilus considers this to be a “gret unright” (4.550) and refuses to do so. In the following stanza, he states that the war itself is caused by raping a lady. This speech of Pandarus and Troilus reveals that women are treated as men’s belongings and suffer discrimination.
